CCDP Designation Transfer

Purpose:

From time to time CCDPs may move to Alberta and wish to maintain their CCDP designation with the Career Development Association of Alberta (CDAA) rather than with the association that granted their designation. In response to designation transfer requests the CDAA developed a transfer process to address both the needs of the CCDP as well as the needs of the association.

Eligibility:

The CCDP applying for a designation transfer must have a current CCDP designation with another provincial association and become a member of the CDAA in order for their transfer to be processed.

Process:

The CDAA Registration / Standards and Certification Committee will review the designation transfer application and required documentation to determine eligibility. If eligible, the CCDP will be granted an Alberta CCDP designation.

Designation transfer applications will only be accepted prior to the CCDP expiry date.

If the designation transfer request is made after the CCDP expiry date the applicant will be asked to complete a new CCDP application.

The CDAA Registration / Standards and Certification Committee will review applications on a monthly basis. The CDAA Registrar will confirm receipt of the application with the CCDP by email and advise the CCDP of the next meeting date. The CDAA Registrar will advise the CCDP, by email, of the decision within one (1) week of the meeting and provide a formal letter within two (2) weeks of the decision date.

Please feel free to contact the CDAA Registrar at ed@careerdevelopment.ab.ca if you have any questions regarding your application.

Application and Required Documentation:

CCDPs applying for a designation transfer will submit an application and required documentation using the online submission form prior to the CCDP certification expiry date.

Required documentation includes:

  • Copy of current CCDP certificate
  • Copy of current resume / curriculum vitae which includes descriptions of career development paid employment experience
  • Verification of CDAA membership

If documentation is missing and / or delayed, the application will not be reviewed for eligibility until the required information is provided. This may result in a decision delay by the CDAA Registration / Standards and Certification Committee or the application not being accepted. The Registrar and / or CDAA Registration / Standards and Certification Committee representative may contact the applicant for additional information and / or clarification if required.

The information collected is strictly confidential and will be used only for the purpose of assessing your membership status and request for designation transfer.

    Important Notes:

    1. Designation transfer applications must be submitted using the online submission form. Paper copies will not be accepted. Please ensure you have gathered the required information and documentation to prepare your application. Please set aside up to two (2) hours to complete your online application. You will not be able to save and return to your online application once you start the process.
    2. Your CCDP designation expiry date will remain the same. Upon being granted the Alberta CCDP designation you will be subject to the CDAA’s CCDP Schedule of Fees. Please refer to the CDAA website for the most current fee schedule. The fee schedule will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change.
    3. If you have any questions please contact the CDAA Registrar at ed@careerdevelopment.ab.ca.
