Lunch 'N Learn
The November Lunch ‘N Learn Event was held on Nov. 5, 2008 -- The Southern Chapter of the CDAA proudly presented Kris Magnusson Ph.D.
The event was well attended by over 40 Career Development professionals from Southern Alberta, working in a variety of fields including education, community services, private practice, government, post-secondary, immigrant services and services for individuals with disabilities. It was a great event and a great opportunity to meet fellow career development professionals.
Our feature presenter, Dr. Kris Magnusson, spoke on the Four Elements of Coherent Career Practice and the event was enjoyed by all. Dr. Magnusson has influenced the landscape of career development and is the author of seven books ranging in diversity from “Theories of Career Development” (co-authored with Dr. Dave Redekopp) to a self help career manual, “Radical Change in the World of Work”. He has also influenced the shape of career development education with his pivotol role in the development of Canada’s first English post-degree diploma program focusing on Career Development at Concordia University College of Alberta, as well in the development of a distance Master’s Degree specializing in Career Counseling through Campus Alberta, as well as the development of the Master of Education Program in Counseling Psychology, offering a specialization in Career Counseling, at the University of Lethbridge. Dr. Magnusson currently holds the position of Associate Vice-President Academic at the University of Lethbridge.
We were very pleased to have Kris speak at our event and thank him for his wonderful presentation!
We also say thank you to our guests in attendance at this event — the CDAA Chair Doreen Koey and CDAA Vice-Chair Paula Wischoff were in attendance to share news and updates from the Association with our participants. We also say thank you to the representatives from the CDAA Calgary Chapter who promoted our event in Calgary and who attended the day as well
And thank you to all participants who attended – we are glad you attended this event and hope to see you at our exciting events coming up!
