Career Development Education in Alberta/Online

Alberta is fortunate to have access to a number of institutions that offer a certificate, diploma, undergraduate, or graduate degree in career development. In addition, Albertans can access online courses to obtain basic industry education or to enhance their professional development.

For the purpose of CCDP designation, the following programmes as well as the Professional Ethics and Career Development Theories courses contained therein have been reviewed against the core competencies and have been found to meet CDAA standards:

• Bachelor of Arts, Psychology Concentration with Career Development Specialization
• Master of Counseling: Career Counseling 
• Post-Master’s Certificate in Counseling: Career Counseling

Concordia University College of Alberta

• Diploma in Career Development
• Certificate in Career Development
• Bachelor of Arts OR Bachelor of Management with Career Development Minor

University of Calgary

• Certificate in Adult Learning: Career Specialization
• Master of Counseling: Career Counseling Specialization
• Post-Masters Certificate in Counseling: Career Counseling Specialization
• Career and Academic Advising Certificate

University of Lethbridge

• Master of Counseling: Career Counseling Specialization
• Post-Masters Certificate in Counseling: Career Counseling Specialization 

Discontinued Programs approved to qualify for CCDP Designation

*Graduates from these programs are encourage to still apply as criteria for completion of these programs continues to be recognized by the CDAA
